The title is a bit inaccurate, I'm ftm nonbinary (not sure if agender or genderqueer, lol) but whatever I've had this book for ages. My name is Hayden and I'm a teenage unicorn boy. I like music and to draw and I also like YouTube. I'm full of love for everyone except for myself so prepare for some angsty things every now and then. I hope to one day start a band with my guitarist friends once I learn to drum. I plan to try and be an activist for my community once I'm out of the closet because I think I can make a difference. I'm not yet a man, I'm only a boy, but I'll be the best I can.

Jay is a bit of a misfit. In fact, if it was the 1950s, you may even call her a 'greaser' with her signature leather jacket and '78 Trans Am. She spends her days working as a drum and guitar teacher at the local music store, and her free time playing guitar in her garage band, Novus Orsa. Beneath the surface, though, she hides a secret that has nearly ruined her life once, already. You see, Jay is a closeted lesbian in a military town. Between her ultra conservative parents and the ever-swirling rumors caused by the betrayal of her ex-best friend, Jay is ready for her senior year to be over before it ever starts. On her first day, however, a chance encounter (or collision) changes the trajectory of her life. Demi is a transfer student, upset that her father's job has torn her away from the city, her boyfriend, and the life she knows. It hasn't been an easy adjustment to such a tiny, boring town, and she doesn't even have a car to get away. The first day of her senior year is going terrible, and to make matters worse, her clumsy feet have her stumbling down the stairs. Two worlds collide and what awaits her below has her reconsidering everything she thought about this town. *Note- This story takes place in 2010 and is loosely based on my own high school experience. The more I got into writing it, the more I realized how much has changed in 14 years.
