Meet Dan Howell. Dan has some troubled thoughts, and the self-esteem to match (if you get that reference you are amazing). Dan finds himself questioning existence and feeling worthless quite often.
Dan goes on YouTube when he feels this way. He likes many YouTuber's, but one YouTuber sets apart from the rest. This YouTuber's name is Phil Lester, aka, Amazing Phil.
Dan feels a deep connection with Phil. He feels as if they could one day become best friends. Phil makes his troubles go away, most of the times. Phil makes him feel worth something.
Dan tries and tries to get Phil's attention. He replied to all Phil's tweets, all the time. Nothing seemed to really grab Phil's attention, though.
Dan tells people at his school that one day, Phil and him will be best friends.
"You? Have a best friend? No way, freak." They would say.
Dan is finally ready to give up, but Phil finally replies to him.
