Raphael can't get rid of the guilt that has followed him ever since Simon became a vampire. Raphael can see that Simon hates it, so he tries his best to look out for the fledgling without being too obvious that he cares. It may not just be guilt that Raphael feels, though.
For the first few chapters, they will include dialogue only from the TV show 'Shadowhunters.' All rights go to the writers of those scenes. The movements described in the mentioned chapters also belong to the television show. When I'm done with the existing dialogue and scenes, I'll put an author's note and tell you.
