Melanie Green is an actress, and a great one at that. She is currently co-starring in a television sitcom, while also broadcasting the school news in the mornings. Her classmates love the idea of her and they love the personality she portrays for herself in the media, however Melanie's real personality is a little too intense for most people. While her fu** boys refer to her as misunderstood, her classmates view her as a total freak. This leaves her friendless and lonely, but she doesn't even mind. There has always been only her, she's used to it and uses it to her advantage.
When missing a day at school to film for her television show, her history class starts a group project without her. To her dismay, the group she gets placed with holds none other than her old best friend and the creepy boy who has his eye on her.
