Meet Kyla Morgan, an ordinary 16-year-old girl who has always loved the ocean.

"Ordinary", yeah okay! That's what she thought just 24 hours ago when everything made sense.

Her beach house had always been a place of comfort and familiarity. Now, it was full of mystery and unanswered questions.

It was always more than just a "love" for the ocean. It gave her power and strength in times of need and calmed her when she was nervous or stressed.

She's never figured out why. She's always had this feeling in her gut, like a magnetic attraction to the water. Something that she cannot control.

She's just a beautiful girl with a beautiful name and an amazingly gorgeous ability.

Briella Martinez thought she had it all-a glamorous life in Los Angeles, a loving little brother, and a future that seemed as bright as the California sun. But when her mother walked out and her father's dark side took over, Briella's world shattered. Forced to leave the city behind, she and seven-year-old Diego move to the Outer Banks, where the ocean's freedom feels just out of reach. Adjusting to life in OBX is anything but easy, especially under her father's abusive shadow. Still, Briella finds solace in the company of the Pogues, a tight-knit group of misfits who welcome her-well, most of them. Kiara isn't thrilled about the way JJ looks at Briella, and the tension between them threatens to fracture the group. Determined to push Briella out, Kiara aligns with the dangerous and manipulative Rafe Cameron, setting off a chain of events that could destroy everything Briella has come to care about. But beneath her smiles and determination, Briella hides her deepest pain. On nights when the weight of her father's wrath becomes unbearable, she dreams of the dolphins she watches from the shore-creatures that seem so free and untouched by life's cruelty. Their effortless grace inspires her, even as she battles thoughts of escaping her reality forever. When the pressure of her father's abuse, her strained friendships, and her complicated feelings for JJ collide, Briella is pushed to her breaking point. As secrets unravel and danger looms, she must decide if she can rise above the chaos or let the waves carry her under. "Dolphins always seem so happy. They never look sad, but no one knows if they actually are. That's why they are so great-they just hide their emotions. Maybe one day I'll be like a dolphin. Maybe one day I'll go live with them too." - Briella Martinez ALL OBX CONTENT, SCENES, CHARACTERS, SCENARIOS, ETC ARE OWNED BY NETFLIX ALL OTHER CONTENT WITHIN THE BOOK IS 100% MINE THIS STORY DOES FOLLOW THE OBX PLOT (ish) AFTER PART 1 (WELCOME TO OBX) .

Naomi has grown up surrounded by technology and constantly warned that magic is dangerous, but when she's approached by a top-secret magic organization who needs her help to save magic--and the world, well, how could she refuse? She is put through magical training, and learns all the skills she needs to save the world, but will she be able to save her friends? Will it be enough when she's battling those who have more magical experience than her? Will she learn that maybe magic is the thing she was taught to fear so long ago?
