Shinichi Izumi, best friend to Yuji Shokobu. Both have been best friends since kindergarden, and haven't seen each other since freshmen year of highschool, so they never were connected. But one day, a mysterious virus spreads, similar to the parasytes that invaded the brain, but now it's an entirely different walk in the park, Yuji finds a parasyte that hasn't been infected yet, but since the virus only spreads through human infected parasites, and hostless parasytes, the parasyte invades Yuji's left hand.
Cleverly named Hidari, Yuji makes a friend that vows to protect him and discover what's behind this virus infecting both humans and parasites alike.

Hikari has always been friends with Senku, Taiju and Yuzuriha. It's always been the four of them. While Taiju loved Yuzuriha and Yuzuriha loved Taiju, Hikari found herself falling head over heels in love with Senku. And she told blurted it out one time when they were real young that she wanted to stay by his side because she loved him. But it's been so long, she thought he'd forgotten, something illogical as that, wasn't something Senku paid attention to, but he paid attention to her. She was the only one he truly let into his heart aside from science. When the beam of light covers the sky, Hikari gets scared and looks to the only person that makes sense, Senku. She grabs tightly onto him and the two of them are turned to stone together. 3,700 years later, in the year 5738, a minute after Senku wakes up, while in the middle of getting his bearings, Hikari wakes up, begins crying, hugging him, like she had been doing before they were turned to stone. Senku calms her down and tells her that there's more important things than reminding him of her feelings for him, as he already knew about her feelings. He tells her that centuries had passed and they needed to figure out how to survive. That meant gathering food, water, find shelter and clothing. When she looks to see what he means by that, she freaks out and hides behind a tree until he gets her something to cover up with. His brain didn't fully grasp the problem that she was naked, but he found her something to cover up with.
