It was funny when I read other novels that portray people getting sucked out in a novel or an otome game. Until that happened to me. I wake up, groggy and feeling a bit heavy. Reborn again to change WHAT?
It was Edith's third life. First she was a poor hardworking girl lost under the pressure of work in the modern world of airplanes and computers but then she died.... Then she found herself in the novel she used to read. The book was worn out as she had reread it several times and now she is bound to the plot as a character who had to avoid the fate of ending up the villainess's accomplice and save her life. So her choices ultimately almost led to a happy ending where she even fell for one of the second male leads but then...SHE DIED AGAIN. ＞﹏＜ ＞﹏＜ ⏳⏳⏳ Now again she was in the novel world. Was this to avoid death or her lover? She couldn't really say but the only thing was some characters were now different from the initial novel plot especially Derek whom she loved. I will be the first to say that I'm not sure why I happened to seemingly be reincarnated into one Caroline Forbes? I don't do cheerleading, sure I'm perky with close friends, I'm sometimes overly blunt, I say random things and I don't do well with being bossed around without retaliating. Waking up by a vamp who would like to play with me and then drain me is not exactly my idea of a good time. ONC entry for 2024. Prompt 49: Being a superhero is just too boring. Let's be a villain! 15-years-old Marissa Everstar makes a Faustian bargain to receive superpowers, in the hope they will make her famous. But when being a superhero turns out to mainly involve boring work that does not get her the immediate popularity she craves, she shifts gears and becomes a villain. Trigger warning: contains descriptions of physical and emotional abuse, blood and gore. Excerpt from chapter 2: I carefully begin pouring the white powder onto the floor, drawing a large pentagram. I spend a lot of time on the intricate details, making sure everything is perfect. The summoning circle quite small, but it will have to do. I clap my hands twice and hear a soul-crushing scream that appears to pierce my body to its core. Hearing the sound fills my stomach with butterflies and gives me a fuzzy feeling. I haven't heard a single sound in almost a year. Following the scream, a shadowy figure emerges. He appears deep black, littered with stars, as if a human-like shape has been carved out of the universe, but also strangely transparent, as if made of glass. His long arms end in clawed fingers, and his ears and horns are goat-like in appearance. On his back are two bat-like wings. He speaks in a deep voice-the only one I've heard in a long time.
