Maesin Gilbert is the adoptive sister of Elena and Jeremy Gilbert. But unlike Elena's situation, everyone knows Maesin is adopted. And she is in no way blood related to the Gilberts. This story starts from the beginning. Jeremy is in his freshman year of high school. Maesin and Elena are in their junior year.
