(The start of this book skips to the summer before their fourth year)

Harry and Grace Potter had just finished their third year at Hogwarts. For a quick summary, they had almost gotten killed by a diary come to life and the spirit of Tom Riddle, and they were hunted by an alleged serial killer who just so happened to be their godfather. Oh, and Ron Weasley's pet rat was their dad's old best friend who was crazy and working for Voldemort. Some would say it was an eventful year.

With a new crush on a boy that she knows she probably shouldn't date, trying to keep her powers a secret, and the realization that Voldemort is about to return to power, Grace is not about to recieve the calm and happy year she was expecting  to have. Trying to keep her crush a secret from Harry and Ron, and trying to make sure Voldemort doesn't rise to power, Grace is in for trouble this year. After the friends exchange a few words the compartment door slides open the tiniest of bits. A boy with brown hair and shocking blue eyes asked if he and his sister could sit with them. June agrees and they enter the compartment. They introduced themselves as Justin and Thea, twins, and both Ravenclaws. June's hopes of an uneventful year die after the train ride leads to Dementors searching the train for an escaped murderous prisoner. Shortly after arriving at school, the students learn that the soul-sucking creatures from the train had been placed outside and around the school's perimeters in case the escapee tries to enter the school grounds. Soon June learns of her Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Remus Lupin is a werewolf. And that he knew both her parents. Later the young girl learns that the friendly shaggy-haired dog is the escaped prisoner? And that he was Harry's godfather? All that's certain is that this school year will not be uneventful. No year at Hogwarts is, especially with famous Harry Potter there.

Voldermort rose in Draco Malfoy's 3rd. At the end of the year. They did not know why or how or what happened. They had been attempting it, Draco knew despite his father's tight lips. Yet, the process had not gone as planned. It was the soul from the diary that had returned, not the 20-odd year old that they had been expecting. This came with...complications. Tom Riddle was 16. Ideally, he would go to hogwarts in order to recruit those that would remain loyal to only him. Sure he had the remnants that his older self had recruited, but Tom did not know them, and furthermore, he doubted the viability of many of them. So he uses them, but he wants more loyal followers, and as such he needs to go to Hogwarts. Quite a decent foundation for such things. Using the young Draco Malfoy, molding him, grooming him, he would fool Albus Dumbledore, gain access to Hogwarts, and then he would begin his recruitment process. If he found his mate, became a bit too attached (obsessed) , and started another feud, well all part of the process he supposed. There were other issues as well. With Remus Lupin, the werewolf, still teaching, and the favoritism amongst the students, they had some work to do, but it was nothing Tom couldn't handle.
