For James, expeditions seemed to be an eternity away from his home, but he would think of her to pass the time. He had thought he would one day marry the kind red jewel, but worried what society would think. So he settled for her companion instead. 

When a certain Captain comes to town and sets off a chain of unpredictable events Felicity gets a taste of the other side of the law and James' true feelings are put to the test. Together the couple is thrust into a journey where true loyalties are tested and their love for one another is put on the line. Felicity doesn't want to get in the way of James' happiness, but what if his happiness is her?
