Casey Faria grew up in the small town of Cartersville, Iowa. It was a pretty stereotypical town. Church on Sundays, Friday night football games, that one bar that everyone went to after work, and everyone knew everyone. And Casey knew no one from Cartersville made it big; Except for her older sister, Erin.
Erin knew how to get big. She knew how to beat the system she wasn't meant to win. She was the biggest singer Cartersville had ever seen. All because of a simple club; "The 27 Club."
Desperate to get out of the small town, Casey goes to Erin, who knows the way around the system. Erin knew how things worked. Someone was always watching. There was a group higher than our government that knew how to get things. They controlled what we did, what we believed, and who got famous. They controlled what we learned, who grew in power, who won the wars, and Erin had a connection. Not a big one, But big enough.
Casey makes a deal with the group and quickly begins to get noticed. The only downside was, they had control over her fame; Who recognized her, which record label wanted her, and most importantly, how famous she got. She begins to rise in fame but learns of others who made this deal, and why the people who make the deal are called "The 27 Club."
All of them went big, got a few awards, a few hit singles, and died at 27. So did Erin. Dead at 27 years old. As Casey reaches 27 she learns that only one club member has ever lived. In the near 100 years the club has been around, one managed to survive past 27.
Desperate to keep herself alive, Casey knows that she has to beat the system she thought she got around, but turned back against her. For one year.
27.
