As the Sons of Darkness and Trynia conquer cities left and right, the ninja and their allies place their hope into the prophecy written on the ancient scroll. The team is stuck in Lost Rock until Lloyd satisfies Ronin, but the other ninja grow concerned as it seems the green ninja's Baddie side is resurfacing. Between Ronin's dangerous tasks and Chelsea's wild lifestyle, Lloyd is pushed to his limits, and his sickness is this close to putting him on his deathbed.
Yet the team has no time to rest, for twists in their mission still follow everywhere they go. Lloyd isn't the only one who must risk himself for the good of Ninjago, and both those considered good and those seen as bad must decide the purpose behind their fight. Through sacrifice of the noble and dishonorable, grief of souls already on the verge of breaking, and perseverance of only those sure of their place, true intentions will be revealed, relationships will be broken or mended, and both sides of the War will struggle for first place. A turn in fate--or prophecy--leads the second Elemental Alliance and the Sons of Darkness to one final stand, where the ninja will learn just who is a friend, and who is merely an ally... and what it truly means to be a hero.
