Sweet Dreams: A Modern Fairytale by bluepuzzlepiece

This is inspired by a writing project I supervised when I worked with an elementary student. This writing project was a group project to make their own spin on a fairy tale assigned to the group. It had to have all the main points of their fairy tale, start and and with the common phrases of a fairy tale, and it had to have their own creative spin. My student did Cinderella, and it was so fun to work with him and his group, I wanted to make my own. Our dear Cinderella loves to bake, but she's not exactly looking for love when an opportunity to make a name for herself comes up. As for Prince Charming, he is looking for love, just not in the usual fairy tale fashion. And as usual, there's some extra mischief from the step family, royal family, and fairy godmother. Heaven only knows what's going to happen, right?

I'm not Cinderella I never really believed in fairy tales and love at first sight. I always looked at Cinderella as a desperate fictional creature because all logical reasons shows that: 1). You cannot meet someone for the first time and call it love at first sight (maybe infatuation might be okay). 2) You cannot run away with him the second time you meet him all because one stupid slipper fits you. What would you do if a mysterious admirer started sending you love notes under the name 'Prince Charming'? Would you attempt to discover his identity or just enjoy the mystery? "A delicate rose just beginning to bloom was on her bedspread. The color was such a deep hue of red it seemed almost painted; as if should you hold it upside down the color would drip from its petals and onto the floor in scarlet rivers." In this modern take on Cinderella (with a few twists of course), Ailia finds herself exactly in that position with a lovely ball gown and unknown escort. Add in her best friend Bibi, who begins recieving notes from an admirer of her own, and you've got yourself a modern fairy tale.
