Whare Potae (The House of Mourning)

Part One of the Purakau stories. Moana, now the new Chief of Motunui, rushes off to rescue Maui from the clutches of the goddess of death in the face of another crisis on her island. In the process, she discovers a few unexpected things about the Demigod of the Land and Sea which make him seem far more human than she'd ever expected.
