A purebred dog. Wesley was no different from one. She was a freak of nature riddled with genetic disadvantages. Disadvantages that she was praised for. Disadvantages considered to make her more respectable in comparison to others like herself. She knew she was thought as the paramount of her kind. Yet, she also knew, that on the inside, she was anything but. And that was all that mattered. --- Following the death of her older brother, and mentor, Wesley Fray, an internationally wanted criminal , turned herself into the authorities. While waiting for her trial and being in prison, she is able to concoct a plan to escape her sentence and find the Academy: a somewhat mythical institution where people who can control one of the four elements, like herself, can be protected from both the human government and Callis-a society apt on kidnapping her for her DNA. She didn't enjoy executing her plan with a crew. Especially a group of inexperienced boys. It wasn't as if she had a choice. But it was necessary. Wesley was a purebred in a group of mutts. And in the end she was their superior, no matter what she thought, herself. She just hoped she would die in a blaze of glory.

I ran as fast as my feet carried me; through the bulky pine trees and the deserted forest area. My legs burned as I ran away from my old house. My arms held my stomach tight, fearing that I would throw up. I ran until I could no longer breathe. I grasped the murder weapon as Drake's blood ran down my arms. Panting heavily, I stopped at a large boulder leaning against it. My breathing could be heard a mile away and that scared me. No one could find me, or I'd be as dead as he is. _________________________________________ Jenna Weston was on the run. She has a past. A past she is desperately trying to get away from. Garrett Chase was the prime suspect in the murder she committed. And as much as she wanted to keep running, she couldn't stand the thought of Garrett going down for the crime. Especially when he is family, and the reason she killed in the first place. **EDITING** COPYRIGHTED © 2014 _empathy All Rights Reserved.
