Dreams do come true if only we wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it. -- J. M. Barrie Detective Elizabeth Chase is who you say she is. Depends on how you see her. Awkward? Check. Rebellious? Check. Unreasonable? Check. Caring? Check. Spontaneous? Check. Sarcastic? Check. Half of the people claim that they don't really know her. The other half insist that they know her. Her partner Detective Valentine Fetcher is somewhere in between. He never sees things just in black and white. He thinks he's the sensible one. However, the facts turn out that he's not so good at making the right decisions. The two detectives have been partnering for five years. But this year isn't a typical high crime-rate year. More and more surprises show up. Things that didn't add up all make sense. Everything has become messy, blurry, and complicated. Do they really know each other?

• 21-year-old Sasha Warren thought moving back to Silverpine would mean a quiet life. As the town's new forensic scientist, her days should've been filled with reports, evidence bags, and crime scene tape. But Silverpine is no where near ordinary, it's a place where bodies turn up in the woods with strange bite marks, and no one wants to say the word why. Then there's Vincent Alistair. The guy who shows up everywhere she does. Too confident. Too perfect. Sasha can't decide if she wants to kiss him or stab him, so she prepares for both. Especially after a night that leaves her questioning what he is and what she's gotten herself involved in. Soon, series of unfortunate events start to follow the both of them, inescapable and continuous. And Sasha's moral compass seems to delay behind her, and she starts to make bad decisions. But the worst mistake of all, has yet to come.
