Dreams do come true if only we wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.
-- J. M. Barrie

Detective Elizabeth Chase is who you say she is. Depends on how you see her.

Awkward? Check.
Rebellious? Check.
Unreasonable? Check.
Caring? Check.
Spontaneous? Check.
Sarcastic? Check.

Half of the people claim that they don't really know her. The other half insist that they know her.

Her partner Detective Valentine Fetcher is somewhere in between. He never sees things just in black and white. He thinks he's the sensible one. However, the facts turn out that he's not so good at making the right decisions.

The two detectives have been partnering for five years. But this year isn't a typical high crime-rate year. More and more surprises show up. Things that didn't add up all make sense. Everything has become messy, blurry, and complicated.

Do they really know each other?

"He seemed like a puzzle to me, and I really liked solving puzzles. But somehow, I don't think that I would ever be able to solve this one." Amelia Heart, with her large smile and her infectious laugh, is what most people would think has the perfect life. They would watch as she went back to her beach house, as she went out of her way to stop and chat to her neighbours, as she would get the perfect grades. She was everything you wanted to be, and yet nobody had gotten close enough to her to understand her life in this small town at all. When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. A new group of friends, a chance at a normal teenage life, even a potential love interest - things that Amelia had never even thought about happening after everything she'd been through. But happiness is only temporary in her life, and she knew that. It wasn't surprising to her when her past began to catch up with her present, it was simply a good thing that it had taken as long as it had. Things start happening in Amelia's life that simply don't make sense, even to her. They do say you should always keep an eye over your shoulder, especially when you know you're being hunted, but for Amelia, even an eye in every direction wouldn't be enough. Time begins counting down, fast. Did she want to involve her friends? Could the new people in her life be trusted? She wouldn't have long to make a decision. Not before her world comes blazing down, the final battle on the horizon. Tick, tock, Amelia. You don't want to be late to the party when you're the guest of honour. COMPLETED 06/11/20

|"Sometimes the heart knows things the mind could never explain." -Ranjeet| We are teenagers. We have gone through hell and back. Listen to the stories we have to tell. Spoiler alert: we get broken in the end. But our stories come from our heart. Listen to our heartbeat. Elizabeth and Andrew were good friends up until high school. They drifted away, and rarely spoke to each other. During the last few months of high school, Elizabeth and her four friends get caught in drama. This includes crushes, breakups, makeups, bullies, and much more. Elizabeth has to keep them together and ignore her longing crush on a plain and heartbroken guy. But maybe something could distract her from all that. Maybe that distraction's name is Blake. Warning: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! This story contains many plot holes, cliche moments, and just things that don't make any sense. (And editing would be a nightmare. I can't do it myself. I've officially given up on this story.) #569 in Teen Fiction on April 9, 2016 |Added to @weareteenqueens "High School Highlights" reading list!| |Entered in the #W.SAwards for 2016 "Most Favorited Book!"| #Wattys2016 #WriteForYou #MyYouth #weareteenqueens
