When Esther finds out that her cancer is limiting the time she has left, she doesn't know where to start, whether she should be jumping off cliffs or travelling around the world. But then, she meets Oliver Foster - the school jock who, typically, in the movies, should be shoving nerds into their lockers and flirting with all of the girls. To everyone else, this is exactly who he is, but after a house party followed by a string of unfinished conversations, Esther begins to figure that Oliver Foster may not be the shallow-headed teen that everyone thinks he is.
Oliver strives to give Esther the life that she is going to miss, but nothing is ever that simple. As she grows sicker, her time shortens and Oliver begins to understand that the life he wants to show her may not be an option.
Follow Oliver and Esther through their difficult relationship as it grows through joy, love, heartbreak and sadness, learning along the way that, sometimes, the best people, relationships, and lives, are just ordinary.
