(Authors note: I consider this a relic, my first ever full novel that I wrote at the young age of 16. As such, yes I know there are a lot of cringey moments, yes there are plot points that go nowhere, and yes there are plot holes. Still, I have to acknowledge just how far I've come as an author since these times)

Not only have I never seen him before in my life but everyone in our town always wears nice clean and washed clothes, therefore nobody should be looking like him. The boy has a small cut on his cheek and is thin, a lot thinner than he should be. I look away from him and around at my surroundings, there is no one else here.
