"Amari! Over here! Come on!" My younger brother, Oliver yells to me with an excited glint in his eyes. "Coming!" Running after him as fast as I can, I finally catch up, jumping onto his back as we tumble to the ground laughing together. My 7 year old brother laughs harder as he tries to push me off of him, his dirty blonde hair whips across his face and a toothless grin plastered on his face. Suddenly, I smell something awful, it smells like burning plastic and I freeze. "Go, up that tree." I whisper to Oliver, using what little alpha tone I've developed thus far, as I push him towards a big tree. Worry plastered across his face but he continues up the tree anyways. I know why he's worried, he knows as well as I do, we can't shift, we can't link our parents, we've wondered too far from the pack for anyone to hear us, we are on our own. As soon as he is done shuffling into the tree, it doesn't take long for the rouges to come into sight. "Well, well, well... Who do we have here?" The leader of the group of six asks, shifting back into his human form.
