Macy is new girl in her senior high school class. She is afraid of being a loner, but one handsome, protective guy, Aidan, takes an interest in her. There's an instant connection. Here's the problem: Macy is completely human. Aidan... Not so much.

Werewolves exist. They live amongst us humans. No, not werewolves who shift at a full moon and have crazy hair everywhere, but ones who are a part of a wolf pack and live secretly both in the human and forest world, shifting forms controllably at any time. They control their own territories, live as a secret to all humans, and have their own ranking system in their packs. All werewolves have a mate, similar to what humans know as a "soul-mate" except the innate romantic connection is ten times stronger. Your mate becomes your reason to breathe, eat, sleep, and live.

Of course, it's normally werewolves being paired up with other werewolves, but what about that one in eight million of a chance of being paired with a human?

That is the story of Macy and Aidan: An everyday human high school girl, Macy, unknowingly paired up with one of the strongest leaders alive, the wolf alpha, Aidan.

A spin-off from the Rootbridge series. Callie's wolf is out of control and therapy isn't helping her understand the fragments of memories she has about her mother's murder. So, unable to stay at Rootbridge any longer, she decides to take matters into her own hands and sets out to discover the truth about what really happened to her parents and what really happened to her. But, she gets more than she bargained for when she encounters the beast of Shadow Valley - a creature said to be deadly, half-rabid, untameable. Vikas Gordstrum, first born son to the alphas of the Shadow Valley pack, killed his moon mate on her 21st birthday. Haunted by her death and abandoned by his pack, he has lived on his own for years until one night his half-rabid wolf catches a new scent - one that intrigues him, one that grounds him like no other ever has, one that he doesn't want to let get away. With new revelations turning Callie's world upside down and a betrayer amongst those that she trusts, it will not be easy for her to discover who killed her mother and abandoned her in the forest as a child - nor will it be easy for her to let Vikas walk away after all is said and done. He is not her fated mate. And she is not his. But there is a connection between them that neither could have predicted - but one that they both should have seen coming. Crescent Swiftwater, an innocent shift-less human raised in the turbulent society of werewolves, discovers a world beyond her family and searches for true love. The smell of sweat in the small arena was overpowering. The obnoxious hollering of the students can be heard around the arena, its echoes only enhancing it. Just then, the announcer jumped up onto the 7-foot-high podium with a microphone in his hand as his deep voice resounded throughout the arena riling up the crowd. "Next up is the fight between Cress and Aubrey!" The crowd was eerily silent for a split second before going wild. This was the fight that piqued everyone's interest.
