While Subira was still in the womb, her mother, Ramla, had a vision. The child she carried was destined to aid a baby king. The god, Thoth, told her no more. But in her vision, her unborn child taught the Egyptian seer a song that would become the mantra by which she trained the child for her lot in life: "Patience is virtuous. Ears gather knowledge. Eyes record detail. Persistence pays dividends." Would the ditty be enough to keep Subira faithful to her task in the court of King Herod?
