Famine: Arrival

In present day America, a great catastrophe occurred. Beams of light fell from the heavens which struck over 5000 people. No trace of them was left behind, not even a single ash. Reports stated that witnesses heard the people who were struck by the beam of light cry out in agony, before the beam vanished.

Chris Ainsworth was an officer in the army. Having spent his entire life on training and nothing else, he never had a wife nor a family. His parents have died in a car accident when he was 9, so he was adopted by his rather peculiar uncle. His uncle taught him a lot of things; the multiverse theory being one of them.
He was on his way to have lunch when the very same beam of light hit him. Once he woke up, he found himself in a very... unlikable situation.
