"Just leave, Anam!" "No. Never," she said, firmly. "I don't think you know what I'm capable of," I replied, clenching my fists. I placed both hands on the wall beside her, trapping her in place-not to threaten, but to make her see. "All I know is... you could never hurt me," she said softly. There she stood, so innocent, tears streaming down her beautiful face. And yet, just by looking at me with those greenish-blue orbs, she was comforting me. Eyes in which I wanted to find a love that existed only for me. "There's nothing in me but a so-called attractive face to be liked Just leave, Anam. Stop giving me all these hopes... hopes that will never become reality. Maybe what you did was right." I slowly lowered my hands, giving her the space to step away. She paused for a few seconds, then turned and began walking toward the door. (Ya Allah, please stop her. I need her. I need her badly.) The rhythmic click of her heels echoed through the silence. She stopped right before the door. I couldn't hold it in anymore. "Anam... please don't," I murmured to myself- But somehow, the words were loud enough. She turned suddenly and ran back toward me. I caught her in my arms-this heavenly creature I had been craving like hell-and held her as if I'd never let go. .......................... "What did you say to Papa yesterday?" Adhvita stood in front of him, eyes blazing with pain and fury. Her tears were ready to fall, but her pride held them back - for now. Ibrahim's heart sank. He had never imagined that the girl he once called his faith would look at him like he was a stranger. He tried to hold her hand. She pushed him away and shouted, "MAINE POOCHA AAPNE KYA KAHA THA KAL PAPA SE?" He couldn't speak. As if something was choking his throat. Red eyes. Silent tears. Fear. Not of being wrong - but of losing her. "...Divorce." The word barely escaped his lips. A loud slap followed. Her world shattered. "So you're leaving me?" she whispered, broken. He closed his eyes, nodded slowly. She trembled. Held his hands. Kissed them. "Just once... say it's a lie, Jaana..." Her tears fell on his hands like drops of pain. "I'll die without you." Her voice cracked, her soul screamed. She fell to his feet. Begging. Crying. Shaking. "Please don't leave me, Jaana... please... take me with you..." No one stopped him. No one held her. He bent down, kissed her forehead. "I love you." Vo jaa rha tha, Woh jaane ke liye hi to aaya tha. ★ Start ~ 14 April 2024 End~
