Lucifer wanted free will so bad that he defied his own father and fell from grace. He went from being worshiped by all Angels also being favoured by the Heavenly Father. He was the most loved Angel but one mistake and suddenly he was falling from heaven with the chains of hell pulling him down to the pits of the earth. They refuse to however acknowledge that the devil is not evil but punishes evil instead.
As sad as it sounds the only person Athena Costello sees a little bit of herself in is lucifer. Being half angel and half human doesn't stop her from sympathising with the devil.
Athena Costello was the best Shadowhunter of England. The bravest, strongest, fastest and most importantly honest shadowhunter the institute of London as ever seen. However the enthusiastic girl was forbidden to go on anymore missions after an accident that happened when she was 16.
Now 3 years later she has a chance to prove to everyone who she actually is.

They trained together, go on missions together, and did everything together. Kayla and Isabelle are parabatai, like Jace and Alec is. The four was best friends had a inseparable bond. As they grew older Kayla grew feelings for Alec, as did Alec. Soon they started dating and have been since.
