"Don't you ever get tired of fighting it?" I wasn't able to look at her as I nodded my head. I felt her soft hands lift my face, forcing me to look into her eyes.

"Then stop."

Alex Lynn is in the worst situation of her life. Okay maybe second worst. After doing some wrong things with the wrong people for too long, it finally caught up with her. She just narrowly avoided being arrested when a family friend was able to get her out of it, in exchange that she has to help coach his college swim team.

Lily Grey is a star. A star athlete, a star student, a star child. She graduated high school at just sixteen and is a junior in college at just nineteen years old. Everything she touches turns to gold and she intends to keep it that way. So long as no one finds out her biggest secret.

The two girls shouldn't cross paths. They have nothing in common. They have different lives, different interests, and drastically different reputations. One thinks with her heart, the other with her mind. Alex makes it her goal to prove to Lily that maybe, just maybe, some things in life are meant to happen, no matter how bad you try to control it.
