Everyone has a guardian angel. Your guardian angel only visits when you are in danger, but for 20 year old Teddy Thomas, things are different. Teddy's life was exactly how she pictured it, with a few exceptions. She lived in Los Angeles, California; she was in college to be a detective; she had a loving family; and she was in love with her dorm mate, Mandy Stevens. For her, life was perfect.
That is, until a secret about herself, and the precious world she thought she knew, is revealed by her guardian angel. Teddy isn't fully human. She is a Shifter, and she has the power to transform into any animal she desires. Now she must put her life aside, to save everyone else's. Not only does a war between humans and demons break out, but a war between Heaven and Hell, and the key to winning the battle, is Teddy. She must put the new found powerful knowledge she learns to the test to save not only herself, but her family's life, Mandy, humanity, and the world as well. It's a fight of good versus evil. Who will prevail?
