Keiko Sakurai, an average seventeen-turning-eighteen year old school girl, comes from an old lineage of family. Her family still follows Miai Kekkon (arranged marriages) in which all of the couples in the family were married arrangely. In fact, her parents were product of an arranged marriage. There is a transfer student whom she has a crush on (i told you, she's average XP). Months passed and her birthday came. A news from her ojii-sama (grandfather) reached her. She is now about to get married to someone she doesn't know. To someone she haven't even met.

Nine Years earlier, Zane Callen, a boy with inclination towards creation, had presented his heart-and a metal rose, which he had made himself-to a girl named Kanami Hanako. As Kanami slowly comes to terms with Zane and grows feelings for him, she is forced to come to terms with her own faults and, more significantly, the consequences of her previous conduct. Zane, on the other hand, does not know whether he can trust her or whether he risks loving her again. For both, the contract raises a question they are not ready to face: is there a possibility for love to grow in the midst of duty? Or shall the slits in their souls become so profound that even healing will not be possible? With a year on the countdown, Zane and Kanami must now now approach the question of whether this wedding is purely a transactional affair or takes an opportunity for, self-development, comfort and most importantly, true love.
