A Spectrum's Shield

Kitty let her muscles relax and, though warily, let out a small laugh, tears of joy pricking at her eyes. They had come back for her. The Avengers, the people she was sure were fed up with her, had come back for her.

Just a year after Kitty escaped enslavement, she found herself in the presence of the Avengers, a group she had believed to be fiction until now, after a desperate break in at their headquarters for food. Following being accepted to the team on loyalty conditions, Kitty soon was at the mercy of a new power she had no idea she possessed, as well as learning to strengthen the ones she already had. Then there were the dark secrets that completely kept Kitty from being able to be close to anyone, for fear they'd discover everything about her.

Amongst all of this turmoil, Kitty finds her heart being tugged at by the ever-amazing Steve Rogers. She believes she has found a true friend, maybe even something more. But, over a few months with the Avengers, she realises that Steve's heart was taken before Kitty was even here, and what made it worse was that the girl he liked was often in the Avengers Mansion with them.

But she has larger problems: her slave captor is coming back for her, the Avengers, and the entire world; he wants it to be his. Follow Kitty in her adventures and struggles to stay with the Avengers, whilst being able to help them conquer her captor, who was powerful enough to destroy them all.
