"It seems to me like the only thing you can do, is hurt people." I yelled loudly, my voice cracking at the power and pain behind my words. Sirius looked at me sadly, and gave me a pitiful smile, showing utter defeat.
"Maybe because all I have been is hurt," Sirius started, emotion tearing his voice apart. "I don't know how to treat others differently, Briar."
He needs someone to teach him love. He needs someone who can heal him, not destroy him.
I walked over to him in large steps, and reached my arms around his waist, and pulled him to me. I put my head in his chest, and hugged him, tears falling down my face at a rapid pace. Sirius seemed surprised by my touch and comfort. He softly sighed, and wrapped his arms around me, setting his chin on top of my head. I smiled in his chest, tasting my salty tears at the same time. I took my head out from his chest, and looked up at him. I don't like, no, I hate what he did, but someone needs to help him. He helped me. It's time for me to return the favor.
"I'll help you," I said. Sirius looked relieved, yet worried.
"I don't know if I am fixable." Sirius said with a sad chuckle.
"Everyone is fixable," I started. "I'll be your band-aid."
"What if a band-aid doesn't fix me?"
"It will."
Sirius smiled, and pulled my head into his chest again, and hugged me tighter.
With that, everything burst into color. The color that was most noticeable, was
RED.
"We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are."
