In the realm of Arkridge, the world is a much more complex place than that of Earth. Although their numbers are currently dwindling, supernatural beings - known as Neäkan to the Arkridgians - continue to exist in the wake of humans despite the strained attempts to be rid of them. Alexia was brought up by a human family; safe and unknown to the world, but trapped. Rescued by Dante, she is brought to the Rosavale Academy where young shape shifters are trained in combat for battle, for shifters are the warriors of Arkridge. Facing shape shifters, lycans, vampyres, Slayers, Breeders and her own unknown heritage, she must sacrifice her safety to save her mate. Though barely more than a myth, she is respected and hated by the beings she meets along the way.
