Detective Drew Woolnough is antisocial to put it mildly. The only person he feels he can talk to is Detective Ralph Kemp, his partner from the Academy. Suddenly, a case turns up to change things for Drew, causing him to contact Kier, Ralph's brother, to try to help him with the case.

Drew is broken. He blames himself for everything that went wrong in his life, including his parents death. He takes out his pain the only way he knows how, by cutting into his skin when he thinks everyone else is asleep. He has kept this secret for two years, even from his timid. However, both boys lives change forever one night when Shane gets up in the middle of the night, needing a glass of water, only to find Drew's half of the bed empty. Shane is with him every step of the way, even when Drew hits certain bumps in the road. But can everything that's broken be fixed? And can the boys handle the pressure or will their friendship be tattered and torn? And can you really find love in the most unlikely of places?
