Sloane Montgomery is a sixteen year old girl who had spent the past year with her family, but only after being rescued from the already spent four years of her life in captivity. Trying to reconnect with friends is beyond difficult for her, along with her academic studies. Especially with her ultimate crush, Ryder Black, catching her eye at every corner.
When her parents have to travel long distance for business, she is stoked about being on her own for the next few weeks, knowingly turning into two months, but more importantly, being on her own for the first time since being found, at all. However, she won't be living on her own, but have her two years older college brother, Jacob Montgomery, come stay with her as a safety precaution.
As if having your brother as your babysitter isn't hard enough; your babysitter has to bring back-up to stay under the same roof as you. Everywhere Sloane turns, there's Logan McAllister and his narcissistic, egotistical, cocky smirk. They bud heads every minute, from whose turn it is in the shower to who get's to pick the next movie.
Even though Logan knows of Sloane's past and demons, he doesn't let that define her in his eyes. He tries his best to remind her that bad things don't make a person bad. . . and that they are finally on the good side of bad karma ;)
A/N: The quote is to represent that the two following young adults-- Logan and Sloane-- have gone through hell and back in their lives, and now they finally have the chance to make their life perfect, to prove to themselves that their life of bad didn't have to stop them from turning it into good.
