Alana Knotley is a liar. She lies when she says she's a talented witch, because she's actually a snub - a witch born without any magical ability. She's two years younger than she says she is: sixteen, not eighteen. Her last name isn't even Knotley, it's Atlia. All these lies, however, have a purpose. Alana moved to New York City to fake her way through a prestigious apprentice program, all to prove to her father that she isn't as useless as he thinks she is. But the world isn't all that it seems, and as Alana begins to expose the deception among the magical community, she learns a truth about herself that could destroy her entire family. When Alana finds herself in the center of the beginning of a war, how will she know which side to trust - especially if she can't even trust herself?

The Nix Duology Book 1. Morgan Nix hates Christmas and this year looks like it will be the worst Christmas he's ever had. His fiancé broke up with him four months ago, money is tight at the children's home he works at, and he just found out that his ex was cheating on him for months before their breakup. Always one to hold a grudge Morgan decides to get revenge. And what better way to do it than by pretending to date his ex's boss? The unattainable and gorgeous sorcerer, Nikolai Iarnă. The opportunity is presented to him when Nikolai asks him to pretend to be his boyfriend for the holidays so his relatives will stop setting him up on blind dates, as they have for the past 10 years. But what was supposed to be a fake relationship starts to feel very real and that's something Morgan doesn't think he's ready for. He's already had his heart broken once. He doesn't want to get hurt again. Is Nikolai someone he can trust or will he be abandoned once again when the holiday season ends?
