Snow Roux, an Elementalist who lives in a world of post-war and struggle. The only thing keeping her alive is his voice which she hears in her head, until she mets the Fireflies, a rebel group. Now she has to deal with something she hadn't dealt with in a while... people. There she finds solace in the comforting friendships and the shy romantic relationship she finds. Together, they go through struggles and sacrifice that life suddenly offers them.
