Someone was screaming. A horrific, guttural sound that infected the entire night with sorrow. He wondered if it was the ghosts of the people he'd just killed. He wondered if they'd come back to haunt him, to follow his every waking move, to never let him forget the way he'd demolished them into dust. The sound pounded through his head, threatening to burst open his eardrums, determined to push him to a breaking point. Collapsing to his knees, Chat Noir had to pause to draw in a deep breath. It was only then that he realized the person screaming was him. -- Essentially a rewrite of the Miraculous movie, for people who liked the film well enough but it didn't quite meet their expectations--- But in this version: Adrien is the main focus instead, the Love Square is reversed, all the characters retain their TV-show personalities (meaning Plagg is not an annoying fart joke), the plot is way more insane, and the themes are a helluva lot... darker. (Also, the songs are somehow still included?? I just rewrote them to fit the opposite character-- but they're easy enough to ignore if you really hate songfics.)

Adrien isn't the literal ball of sunshine and obliviousness he projects to be. He knows all too well about the importance of masks and the way people understand and categorize him in the 'dumb pretty blonde' category. This is especially helpful when he can pretend obliviousness when he doesn't know how to let down Marinette, well he didn't know how to let her down before, but now he doesn't know if he wants to let her down or not. Yet, his heart still belonged to Ladybug didn't it? What happens when one day checking up on his princess as Chat, he discovers his lady and princess are one and the same? And that his stupid advice of taking the high road is what is causing her so much distress? It's a good thing Felix is coming to visit, after all his cousin was the best at masks and manipulation.

As Chat noir, he saw that everyone didn't even care about the presents but themselves. Including his only friend, Chloe who kept on bullying Marinette. Her reasoning was that her attitude was crap. He believed it. Until he saw a certain bluenette. And her name was Marinette. Can she melt the ice surrounding his heart or will he remain cold and distant? {Mainly Marichat and Adriennette ship}
