Alta Williams, a research intern at the biomedical plant that saved her life after a horrific accident, is helping Dr. Bryan Engel with the development of bioLungs, a breakthrough in modern medicine. The invention is projected to be implanted in every newborn and adult of applicable health and age, as the Earth's breathable air is in jeopardy, and human and animal lungs are not evolving fast enough to combat the increased levels of toxic air.
While on duty one night and working on the artificial lung's second generation prototype, Alta's hand suddenly and irrationally fuses to the keyboard she is using. At first she thinks that her bioSkin is malfunctioning. Instead, she discovers that an anomaly in the system, the reject coding of the program 'DNA' is trying to make contact.
The computer DNA is sentient and has been looking for an organic host. Since Alta's entire body is made up of bioCells, her body works as a sort of motherboard, and DNA chooses her to take on a mission to stop the corruption of NanoTech, the company Alta works for. DNA merges into Alta's body, supercharging her cells' genetic code, and with DNA's ability to copy the genetic code of any extinct or living creature on scientific record, Alta effectively gains super powers. All DNA asks in exchange is that she stop the corruption he sees occurring within the biomedical facility.
Armed with DNA, Alta has the power to fix corrupted bioImplants before they are used to kill the patients they are inside, or used for power plays... but the question remains: Can Alta, whose entire flesh is made up of NanoTech cells, be corrupted if they find out her secret?

Uneasy Comfort.
So um this story may be on hold as I have lost interest and have no idea how to continue the story... . (Disclaimer, there is NO smut/inappropriate things, just cute and wholesome~♡ but warning, there may be some dark themes throughout.) . . This story is basically a sonic the hedghog fanfic. It's set in a dystopian reality. im still figuring out everyone's stories even the main plot. But I just go along as my mind pleases. The main 'object' that stirs this story is a plant, named the agony night floret, that infects living things. It was created accidentally in a facility by money hungry mobian scientists and main boss, scarlett the fox. she is the main 'villian', surprsingly not eggman lol. the agony night floret infects mobians, putting them in these stages. first a purple blue rash, then disconfiguration then having the chance to rott and turn into creepy lifeless zombie ish creatures, not hostile but really contagious. They roam around isolated areas. Or, they have the small chance by transforming into these cannibalistic 'flesh-gorgers', coming in different types, 3-4 times bigger than hosts/Mobians size. sonic and his friends travel firstly through the thick, white, winter forests, named 'Nobelwoods' in Nahada, trying to find the facility of where it all happened, while unexpectedly coming across a familiar haze of a huge mossy concrete structure of shadows old-old home. Burnt. It will be told why in the story. Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are. Set on a pristine, futuristic Earth, this is the apocalypse like you've never seen it before. (Rated mature for graphic depictions of violence and mild language.) Sonia is a strong, attractive Australian 28 year old with a violent and dysfunctional family background. She gets a job, in the UK, with the Ethical Investigation Bureau (EIB); an organisation which monitors companies that supposedly have ethical/ environmental standards and others that might be breaking related legislation. After a period of menial information and sample-gathering Sonia persuades her boss (York) to give her an undercover assignment, which happens to be at SEICA (seeka), a medical research company 4 hours drive from the city where EIB and Sonia are based. A few days later Sonia becomes infected by the Vaederon whilst stealing a sample of it. She drives down to EIB HQ but on the way, at a cafe in the woods, the drug overwhelms her. She comes to, in the forest, the next morning, with no memory but with heightened perceptions. Meanwhile the head of EIB (York) has used knowledge gained from the analysis of the first sample that Sonia stole to blackmail (anonymously) Dr Metcalfe. Sonia finds her way to the city (from whence she came) by requisitioning the car of a man who tries to sexually assault her while she is hitching. With the help of a video artist (Matt), she starts to piece things together from her recent past. This is possible because the Vaederon is making her mind transmit images that are picked up by Matt's equipment. Thus she begins the journey to recover her eggs and wreak revenge on Dr Metcalfe. You can't please all of the people all of the time and a happy ending for York, Brian and Matt-the video artist isn't, necessarily the one that Sonia planned....but at least she ends up alive, content and..... pregnant.Complete

This microchip is inserted into the heart wall of all acceptably healthy babies at the moment of their birth; the heart muscles powers the chip by recharging the battery. A second microdot 'PIN' is inserted at a random point in the baby's body. Should this 'PIN' become separated from the heart chip by any distance it causes the heart microchip to explode. The government is able to electronically disable or suspend the operation of anyone's chip at their whim, leaving the owner reliant upon the charity of others, or dead. Pandora is born with a minor gene defect which precludes her from being 'chipped'. Following a family crisis, at 14 years old, she is forced out on the streets to join the vast numbers of 'non-chips' who have to rely upon charity and slave labour to survive, not being allowed to work legally or earn money. Pandora finally goes to work for the underworld, determined to claw her way to the top and acquire an illegal microchip.
