Dave Strider, now falling into a deep Depression, believes he has nothing to live for. Locking himself in his room and crying have become two of his few hobbies, and when he isn't alone, moping in his room, he's talking to Karkat Vantas. Karkat has been the only thing keeping him sane... and alive. But, there's something that Dave is completely oblivious to: Karkat has been in love with him for quite some time, and has yet to express how he truly feels. Neither of those two boys seem very different from each other, both are kind, well-liked, and very handsome. Even if they aren't friends, you wouldn't expect them to dislike each other. Well, sadly that is incorrect. Ever since they can remember, they have each hated each other with a burning passion. Jace thinks Alec is a jackass know-it-all, and Alec thinks Jace is annoying and throws his personality in everyone's faces. Those seem like very small or petty things that they could easily overcome by having a conversation, but both are too stubborn for that. It is a mutual hate that neither will give up.
