Thanks to a strange mutation in the human body, there are certain individuals who have developed amazing abilities. Hidden but at plain sight, they have formed a secret organization that is responsible for fighting against other like them and corruption. F.R.E.A.K.S. is full of incredibly strong individuals and are considered to be the elite; Lucas Ross, the self-proclaimed leader who is able to interfere with brain pathways and pheromones, being able not only to sense relationships and/or connections but also influence people's emotions and actions, almost controlling them. Aubrey Wentz aka "Spice Girl" who can control the friction of cells, the greater the movement of these particles the more heat there is; pyrokinesis to a lower scale. All while being the life of the party. Hoain Thanh, the prankster who uses his super speed for a good laugh. Sam Irwin, who's cells mutate so fast they give the ability to change appearance at will as well as to clone, while most of the time looks like a female no one is sure if that is her true self. Jia, a girl with an outstanding voice and a vocal capability superior to anyone's. Whether is singing, breaking glass, or making someone deaf, she can do it. Payton Zardes is the brain behind it all. Being able to calculate the probabilities of anything happening in a split second, he has climbed to the top of the chain, becoming the #1 Strategist. Megan Padilla is a girl with an extra spark, literally, being able to control the electricity within her she cannot only zap the life out of a computer but also has enough watts in her to power up a small village. And now Fred York, the new member who has to prove himself to be good enough to be in the squad. Looks like simply shooting someone in a moving vehicle from the 6th floor and having better-than-dog senses won't be enough. There are things to destroy, people to save, lives to live. What can I say, is hard to have a life when you are part of F.R.E.A.K.S

A man, a woman, a boy, a girl, a demon, and an alien, all walk into a bar... THEY FIGHT CRIME! The Starlight Sentinels goes beyond The Watchmen's question of "Who would want to be a superhero?" by asking "Who would want to be a superhero if being a superhero was just another job people needed doing?" The Starlight Sentinels, that's who! They're not your traditional superhero team, and they're not the other guys either, nor are they the grizzled antihero type. Instead, they're just people who happen to work as superheroes in a world where being a superhero isn't so much a call to greatness as it is an eccentric career choice and super villains are just another problem that people try not to think about. Drawing inspiration from films such as Shawn of the Dead and TV series such as the Venture Bros, the Starlight Sentinels was crafted to be an amusing and occasionally action-packed adventure grounded by a diverse cast of humorous but relatable characters. You may laugh at their numerous missteps, but you'll also be cheering for these heroes and heroines hard-earned triumphs as well. Join this comedic costumed cabal in their debut adventure as they fight crime and battle the forces of evil anytime they're not stuck filling out forms for the police, trying to appease their overbearing corporate sponsor, struggling to gain recognition from an apathetic public, or arguing over whose turn it is to do the shopping in this hilarious tongue-in-cheek tale that takes on all things superhero! If you enjoy the first half of The Starlight Sentinels, you can pick up the full book on every major eBook seller, or order a printed copy from Amazon or Createspace.
