The bloodline of werewolves has descended from Indian tribes long, long ago. In ancient times they were hunted, and killed by people, who feared them. But today, werewolves and humans live amongst each other, although the humans have no idea of the existence. Werewolves were taken out of their history books, and left no trace of their existence to the normal world. While not all Indian descendants of the werewolf bloodline, the ones who do live in packs. Those who do not carry the gene, live in tribes and work to hide the existence of the shifters.
Running was something Anika grew up doing. Her mother left her father at a young age, claiming she didn't like the life of the Royal Luna. When a mate leaves, the other shuts down. They cannot function properly without their mate by their side. And that is exactly what happened to my father. He crumbled emotionally. He became cruel, to his pack and to Anika especially because of her similar qualities to her mother.
When Anika was old enough to fend for herself, she ran. She ran away from the pack and her monster of a father. She travels from pack to pack, some kind enough to help her, while others send her away in fear of a rouge wolf. Although, most packs do not know of her royal bloodline, or she would be praised amongst the community.
One day, Anika travels into the wrong pack. The Night Ice Pack, who descended from a line of Cherokee's. They were powerful amongst the community, almost as powerful as Anika's bloodline since her mother left the royal life and her father went crazy. When she finally runs across her mate, after years of running, will she be able to settle down and lead a pack? Or will she turn out just like her mother?
A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers.
