Since Parker Taylor was in middle school, he feared that he was stuck on a one track path: get into a Good high school, get into a Good college, get a Good job, raise and support a Good family, and then inevitably die a Meaningless Death. Straying from this path just scares him even more, and he's not exactly sure why. Now, entering his third year at a Very Good high school, Parker's beginning to realize he might not make it to the next part of the path. Desperate times call for desperate measures, as he finds himself with his childhood friend, Nick Rand, in a secret society dedicated to cheating their way to success. It might not be the right thing to do, but life cheated him first.

"I'm so sorry, Casey," he said, pleading for my forgiveness. I'd been avoiding his intense gaze for the entirety of the conversation, but I looked into his eyes as I said: "I just want to know; why me?" ---------- Casey Hall is a simple girl, leading a complicated life and it only gets worse when she encounters Jeremy Storm and his elite group of friends. Each attractive, athletic, and... well, attractive, it's impossible for Casey to keep their lives separate. Once Casey learns that the driving factor for their friendship was a childish bet she finds herself incredibly hurt, but is it enough to pull her away from the one she loves? **probably not the ending you're expecting- If you want some sappy optimism you should find another book**
