Taylor Webber and Ashton Hart live in opposite lives. Taylor wants to escape a life of fancy parties and greedy billionaires. Ashton wants to escape a life of abuse and hard work. Both of these teens struggle to get along and practice their passion of art. While Taylor is worried what her family would think of her wanting to be an artist, Ashton struggles to find the time and money for his artwork.

Taylor is forever living in her family's shadow. Her father is a semi-famous doctor and her mother is a great therapist at her father's hospital. Her twin brother, Tyler, is the town's golden boy. He's the generic quarterback/captain of the very successful football team, and he gets A grades with out trying. Taylor's young little sister, Andrea, is the most gifted pianist of her age and is great with science. Taylor is great with hues and shadows, but her mother has high expectations. How will she ever be able to become an artist when she has to live up to the family name?

Everyone assumes Ashton is a "bad boy" due to his bike, leather jacket, and closed off attitude, when in reality, he's the sweetest person you'll ever meet. He has a rough home life and is working constantly. He sometimes misses school to pick up another shift, meaning he's often in detention. His mother died when he was young, and his father hasn't been the same since. All Ashton cares about is making a better life for his little sister, even if it means sacrificing the chance to do anything of importance with his own.

Will they be able to see past each other's appearances or will they become the people others have made them into?
