But if look closer, you notice the ink never really dries on any our experiences. They can change their meaning the longer you look at them. A short story written for my English class about emotions, á la emotions come alive.

At birth, the Artist takes ink to your skin in beautiful twirls and swirls. It's said that those with the same tattoo are soul mates, but that's not the point. In the ink... is the day that death will graze your mind as it pulls you to what waits. Rather it's easy bliss or a simple void. But that's not the focus of our society. No one cares what waits after death anymore because... Well, because there are people like me out there. People who woke up, just like me. People who woke up when they weren't supposed to.
