You had always been a Mineral Town girl, born and raised on the pavel stone roads and friendly neighborhood. You used to think you'd die there, and that thought left you feeling... Empty.

So what did you do? You left for the town next door to seek new experiences, and you found an abandoned farm, not unlike the ones in Mineral Town, and you found pavel stone roads like Mineral Town, and you found(decidedly new) friendly neighbors like Mineral Town had.

But Forget-Me-Not Valley had one thing Mineral Town did not.

Grace and Colton have known each other forever. Living in houses right beside the other, in a small quaint town in West Virginia, they went to school together, birthday partys together, vacations together, and apparently, even family reunions together. It's summer break, the last summer they have before they go to University. When Grace and her mother get invited to a family reunion from a distant cousin, they accept. As Grace is packing her bags for the summer long trip to the country-side in Alabama, her mother tells her that she invited Colton and his mom to come along for the trip, since it's their last summer together. What will happen when they have to stay in the same cabin as each other? Will they maybe become more than "just friends"? _________________________________________________________________ He looks down at me, as i look up. Our eyes meet, and a chill runs up my spine, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. He tilts my chin up, and moves his head so that his lips are brushing my ear as he says, "You've got a little something on your lips, darling." My breathing hitches from our proximity, from his words. "Do I?" I manage to breathe out. He nods slowly, and then inches closer to my face. By now, we are only a few centimeters apart. His sweet honey eyes look from my eyes to my lips, and back to my eyes. "Wh-What's on my-" I stutter out as i move my hand up to touch my lips. Before i can finish my sentence, he grabs my wrist, and places my hand on the side of his neck. "Only the most beautiful shade of pink I've ever seen."

*Unedited rough drafts. Final drafts are on Ao3!* Months have passed since Jill began her new life in Forget-Me-Not Valley. Summer is here, and town residents are preparing for festivals and returning faces from Mineral Town, including the arrival of Kai, an easygoing world traveler who plans to stay for the entire season. Caught up in the festivities, Jill entangles herself with him and the other Mineral Town folk, which can be quite a distraction from farm work. Meanwhile, the third anniversary of Jack's passing looms near, forcing his loved ones, especially his widowed wife Juliet, to reminisce on their past with him and continue to find reasons to move forward. Meanwhile, drought plagues the valley, causing farming to become much more strenuous... And dangerous. Despite newly blooming relationships and the increasing intensity of the summer heat, Jill is determined to keep her head up and endure through her least favorite time of the year, no matter what it takes. Disclaimer: This story is based on the original tales of two games: Story of Seasons (Previously Harvest Moon): Another Wonderful Life and Story of Seasons (Previously Harvest Moon) DS Cute. I wanted to combine elements of both games to create one cohesive coming-of-age story of the main protagonist that stars in them. All characters, settings, and concepts belong to Yasuhiro Wada, XSEED Games, and Marvelous Interactive Inc. I do not claim ownership of these characters; I am only expanding on these existing ideas to develop them further. Certain characters and plot elements are of my own creation. "The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. *EDITORS' CHOICE 2021*After falling for her senior year teacher, Louise learns a harsh lesson on what adulthood isn't. Louise has some trauma to unpack. Heartbreak's a bitch, and her first relationship had been anything but normal. Thinking herself mature for her age, her affair with Mr. Cain started swooningly well. Except things ended quite abruptly. It's a lot for a seventeen year old to handle. But who's really at fault for what happened? Who even is Mr. Cain, and what is he hiding? From the wreckage of her naivety and self-esteem, can Louise save her friendships and rebuild herself? Our love songs aren't telling the whole truth. How can this be? In this tale of vulnerability, adolescence and painful reckoning, the arrogance of youth demands a price. * "'You're what, Louise?' he asked. 'You're sorry? What am I supposed to do here? How can I turn this around? How can I tell you that everything you want and feel is reciprocated, when I have to go back to work and pretend none of it happened?' 'I don't know the answer!' I cried. 'Neither of us do.' I threw my hands up in defeat. He caught them before they could fall. 'But how do I go back to living without your words?' His voice became a whisper. He squeezed my fingers tightly, closing his eyes and bringing them to his chest. 'I need how you make me feel, Luiza. I need it to feel alive. I won't stay away. No one's made me feel this good before. And I can't stand myself for wanting what I want. What do I do?' I was a violin bow on the verge of splintering. Every inch of me pulsed with an ache that began from the marrow of my bones. Fate had brought us here. At this crossroads of ours, there were a hundred different choices to make. A thousand different lifetimes to choose from, stemming from and decided entirely by my next choice. And in the end, I chose incorrectly. I held his face between my hands, feeling the echoing pulse of his skin. I brought his face to mine. I kissed him."

We came to a stop in front of what looked to be a farm house of some sort? Probably a slaughter house, this is where my life ends. He got out of his car without making a sound and opened my door. "Get out" He said calmly. "W-where are we?" "Get out of the car." he said in a harsher tone. What the hell did I get myself into. A dark romance between a shy girl and a tormented soul. *short story*
