Jordyn and Marshall first meet on one of those days Marshall is desperately trying to sell copies of his debut album Infinite, vending on the streets of Detroit, standing right next to his beat down hand-me-down Honda his mom had passed on to him. Jordyn is trying to make it in the music industry as well. She wants to make it as a singer. So, the two of them meet, eventually realize that they have a whole lot in common, and are both there for each other along their journeys to make it big, as well as everything else on between, eventually becoming best friends, then going from friends to lovers, but so many things get in their way right from the get go. Like Jordyn's trust issues with men, Marshall's extremely complicated relationship with his baby's mother, Kim, the fame that one of them acquires way quicker than the other, as well as even more stuff that follows along down the line. Drug addiction, fame, groupies, love, hate... Will all those things eventually tear them apart, or bring them even closer together?! Who the hell knows... She's the absurdist antihero of the new millennia. Paul Rosenberg's child is the definition of an eccentric pessimist, sharing her father's impatience and passion for music. So naturally they're inseparable, making things interesting when a childish, broke white boy with box-bleached hair is Paul's passion project. There's very little going for Marshall, but he keeps pushing anyways, often making a fool of himself. Paul spends most of his time with the up and coming rapper, believing that if he works hard enough and introduces him to enough people, someone's going to pick up the pasty white rapper. Marlow and Marshall are very well acquainted, and though Marlow is a few years younger, Marshall's boyish personality makes it incredibly hard to tell. It's hard to decide who's the lesser of two evils between them. A consistently high, widely disrespectful, crude rapper in his early twenties, or an eighteen year old chain-smoking blackmarket criminal whose life purpose is to create chaos? Yeah.
