You don't understand, everything is a lie. Everything; your life, your memories. You were sent here by the person we thought we could trust. 
We were blind, fast to trust and easily manipulated; we thought that we were fighting against evil, but what we were doing was building its foundation. A foundation that is now unbreakable because of our work. 
Yes: we, us. You don't remember, but we were a team. A real team. You had my back, and I had yours; I always will. 
This is my last chance though, my last message to try to get you back. Back to the real world, away from the fake life you think you are living. I need you, not only as friends,  but our whole world needs you. 
You and I are the only way to stop the evil that we helped bring- I only hope that you will be able to see this message, and believe it, because my many others have failed. 
Come back to me, come back to the truth. However painful it is.

And when I do, I will fight to convince her once and for all they are meant to be mine, just as I was destined to be theirs.

"Listen Kenzy, I know I've been an ass and truthfully maybe you shouldn't even bother returning my calls. You're right, I've been nothing but awful since we met, driving you away yet desperate to keep you close" My heart clinches, but I dared not breathe. Too afraid to give in, too afraid that if I reach for the phone, I'll call. I'll call to make it right. I want to make it right, because this man affects me more than I ever thought he would. But it isn't right. I can't give myself false hope. "Please just talk to me, let me explain. It's not you.....it's me. I'm the asshole. You don't deserve this, you didn't. ..." He pauses and I hold my breath still, fearing he'd hear me breathe, yet, it's only his left voicemail on the phone. Not him "I'm sorry.......dammit!" And that's it, our one sided conversation ends and I'm more broken than before. What happens when your world crashes? When the people you thought would be there forever literally runs through the door without a second glance backwards? What happens with taking a step outside your comfort zone? What happens when that step outside that comfort zone turns into....well unexpected? Personalities clash, feelings are crushed and just maybe that one person you ignore turns out to be the damn life savers. Easy enough, but did I forget to mention they belong to someone else? "All ready?" My mom says cheerfully "Because you look ready to go." "All ready." I say before I look out the window. She starts up the truck and heads out of the driveway. Some time through the drive my mom starts small talk. "So, how are you?" She asks politely "Was it decent? Okay?" "It was" I kind of think it over before continuing "It was... Not the place for me. Kind of like trying to put the square block in the triangle hole. I didn't fit in. Always being yelled at, I suppose." "I see" My mom begins "I am sorry for not talking more to you. Life has been busy. But I am glad to see you making a change for the better. If that is or was in your mind." I just nod. "My life wasn't fair there." I open up about what has been happening. "It was always about my step siblings or step mom. Always expecting me to be there, when they weren't there for me. Being expected to drop everything even if they knew several months in advance. My step mom wasn't the parent I needed. And my dad didn't step in to stop it." My mom sighs, just nodding as she listens. I know I should have chosen to live with her. But all those years ago my dad wasn't dating anyone. But to be honest neither was my mom. I feel bad now choosing dad over her. As I look out the window, my eyes feel heavy, and before I even know it I'm asleep.
