Born after the Empire's demise, Tessa Kyrell must face a galaxy being reconstructed. The New Republic is on the rise and promises safety and rights to all of its citizens.
However, Tessa is the daughter of Ciena Ree, formal Captain of the Empire, and Thane Kyrell, a Rebel pilot. New Republic officials are skeptical of Tessa's upbringing and her mother's history.
The skepticism alone is hard enough, but Tessa also discovers that she possesses supernatural abilities. She has kept her mysterious powers hidden, yet she wants to learn more so she embarks on a journey across the galaxy to discover the truth behind these unnatural forces and herself.
