Koi Daize Brooks is a fifteen-year-old girl who has lived in the hospital most of her life. She has come to terms with her life but is taken aback when she meets Donatello. When they become extremely close friends Koi has to convince herself that she has actually developed a crush on her techno-smart, purple-clad turtle.

And when Koi is threatened by the arch-enemies of the ninja brothers, Don feels like there is no other way to help her but get her out of the hospital.

Koi must learn to adapt to her new life outside her hospital room and regain the personality she lost from all those years of being placed under restrictions. And she must learn to live with Donnie and his large family.

Will she risk her delicate health to stay with her true love?
