Heather moves in with her aunt who lives in Hawkins, Indiana. She hadn't been there since she was 5. Now 17, she is starting her senior year of high school at Hawkins High. She doesn't want to be associated with anyone and keeps to herself and has always been like that since her parents died over the summer, until she becomes friends with an old friend.
