One hospital. Three interns. A hell of a lot to learn.

A new year has taken course at Sacred Heart Hospital. Last year's interns have progressed into residents, and residents into attendings.

Most interestingly, however, the latest crop of interns has arrived. As always, they're a cocky bunch, all of them stuck on the naive notion that they can make a difference in the world. And, hell. Maybe one or two of them stand a chance. More likely, however, is the unquestionable fact that the majority of them will, over the course of the next year, get their asses- along with their dreams- handed to them in a trampled cardboard box.

In the end, the only ones who stand to make it in the medical world are the ones who get their asses kicked time and time again. The ones who sell their entire life to the hospital, and come out at the end of the year with their soul still in-tact.

Edison Cooper has spent the last four years giving her all to medicine. She attended a medical school with cutthroat competition, fought her way to the top of her class, and came out at the end with a free ride to an internship at Sacred Heart Hospital... Which also just so happens to be the hospital where her half-brother, Dr. John Dorian, works as a doctor of internal medicine.

Needless to say, it's going to be a long year at Sacred Heart.
