Charlotte "Charlie" Rain is a sophomore in high school, and though she tries to focus on her advanced classes with the juniors, her mind is normally on photography. As she deals with the busy life of California living, she also deals with a mental issue. She has panic attacks, and they've gotten so bad she's had to go to the hospital because she couldn't breathe. Dealing with these has become normal to Charlie. After having a panic attack at school the year before, she is just trying to go back to normal. Until Josh Daniels comes along. They start to become friends, but it doesn't take long for them to realize they're falling for each other. Charlie is wary, though. How would he react if he knew about her attacks? Would he think she was different? Would he mind? She knows he's a good person, but there's still a small voice in her head. One thing she knows for sure though. She's definitely falling for him... No matter how slowly.

Aiden has one younger brother named Caleb, which is the normal typical annoying brother. Aiden has a girlfriend named Tessa who lives about an hour away from him who he longs to marry. Throughout the story, Aiden struggles to move on through each day, as days turn into night and night into day, he finds himself growing colder towards his father. Who is the towns hero practically. everybody loves the star football coach, Josh Phillips. Things aren't what they seem behind doors though, their father tends to be abusive. Verbal and physical. Aiden can choose to live with his mom but chooses not to because he wants to protect his brother who can't choose yet. As Aiden dives deeper into his fathers unknown past, he uncovers more and more details about his father's past. As he continues to dive deeper, the tension grows heavier. Through out the story, Aiden finds himself digging through old journals, trying to remember certain things. Can Aiden solve the mystery of his father's behavior and show the world the true nature of his father or will he choose to shrink down to nothing and continue to struggle?Complete
